Employed
August 5th, 2008 by admin
I’m officially employed again, or at least I will be after I fill out the requisite mountain of paperwork. I just accepted a position as a tutor at Wright State’s University Writing Center, where I will guide young collegiate minds through the challenges of academic writing. I’m hoping this will give me some insight as to whether I would rather teach or run screaming from the field of academia to rejoin the corporate world after graduation. Wish me luck!

Congrats, my friend! They never did call me, by the way. Hope you’re doing okay! When does Corey start back to school? And when do your classes start?

Congrats! Always good to check out that sort of thing before you commit!

Classes start Sept. 8 for me, Aug. 26 for Kory.
I’m not surprised they didn’t call … the interview went really well. Although you may still hear from them, you never know.

So we are all clear, the term “Guide” does not include any of the following:
Thrusting pencils in eyes
Brow Beating until crying
Throwing things, including books
Throwing people, including students
Speaking in tongues
Ripping out tongues
In fact, ANYTHING to do with tongues
Striking with the sword (Pen is mightier)
Giggling an ignorance
Shouting anything about preposition placement
Otherwise, good luck. This could be the beginning of an exciting career. JBF

I’m going to print out that list and carry it around with me, just for reference.
