Too Much Snow and Other Miscellaneous Nonsense
March 9th, 2008 by admin
I’ve been pitiful about offloading photos from my camera lately, so I thought I’d catch up a little. Things are going well up here, except I am sick to death of winter weather and nearly fourteen inches of snow in March is just absurd. I’m ready for Spring and all of the fun photographic opportunities that it will bring.
Anyway, here’s what you’ve missed:
My brother turned 30, and Chip generously gave him the baseball bat that he lathed with his own two hands:
Obligatory niecii photos from the blessed event (as usual, only one of the girls was being cooperative, but I managed to get a couple decent shots anyway):
There was a lunar eclipse, and Chip spent an ungodly amount of time outside with my camera taking photos of it:
It snowed A LOT and we built the better part of a fort:
Lilly enjoyed running through the snow:
Even if it came all the way up to her belly:
That about sums it up. Jennifer and I leave for New Orleans on the 20th, and I’m really looking forward to photographing the churches, cemeteries and other cool buildings down there, and I’m sure I’ll come back with some great stories and accompanying images. Until then I’m trying to get through finals with my sanity (somewhat) intact.

That’s an impressive snow fort. Sophia and I only managed to build a snow foxhole before we declared war on Jill. In retrospect I’m not sure it was the best idea to teach my 3 year old to yell, “Fire in the hole”, toss a snowball, and then dash for a new throwing position.

I think it’s a fine idea — you have to prepare the child for the real world, after all. And congrats! I hear there’s another little Lammi in the world! Next thing you know Sophia will be teaching HIM to yell “fire in the hole.” Just pray you don’t hear the toilet flush afterward.

WOW–that fort is awesome! And how jealous am I that you are going to New Orleans?? I have never been and I am DYING to go! I am sure you will have a blast!

You can live vicariously through me when I post our adventure on the blog … I’ve never been down there either and I’m oddly excited about the cemeteries. Maybe I have a dark, morbid side thus far unrevealed.
