The Creators of Neverwinter Nights Are Stalking Me
July 4th, 2007 by admin
So, I was all set to blog about this table I’m refinishing (see below) when I decided to succumb to the call of the PC game I love, Neverwinter Nights. I hadn’t played in well over a year, actually, because it tends to suck me in and I spend hours in front of my machine killing orcs and dark elves and rescuing human babies and priceless artifacts. Surely you can see the draw.
Anyway, as I mentioned, I haven’t played in a while and I chose to reinstall the game’s fancier version, Neverwinter Diamond, with new quests, new characters, and, apparently, me. That’s right, folks, I’m starring in Neverwinter Nights. Please refer to the screenshot below, and tell me, is that not me? It was quite astounding to learn that I am a half-elf with some serious shortbow skills. Who knew?
AnYwAy, I’m also working on refurbishing a coffee table that has made the rounds in my family. I think it’s been in both of my sisters’ houses and possibly my brother’s, and then it came to settle with me. Some of you may recognize it, but I’m hoping that after a thorough sanding and a new coat of stain it will be a little prettier then you remember. Chip bought me a random orbit sander for the project, and it has proved indespensible. He also found some great butterfly and dragonfly knobs for the cabinets, which I love.
Here are the before shots, and I hope to have afters some time soon:
That’s mostly post-sanding, mind you. I’ll have to see if we have any photos pre-sanding, for comparison’s sake.
Also, for the love of God, go see The Transformers. It was seriously good.

I can’t wait to see the finished table! I would love to try a furniture refinishing project but I think I need to finish some started-but-not-yet-completed projects first (like those pjs for Jonathan…_
